Privacy notice

Last updated 28 October 2026

What personal data is processed when you visit historyofaudit.com, why, for how long, and the choices you have.

Note 1Who we are

This website is published by historyofaudit.com (“we”, “us”), the controller of the personal data described here. For any question about this notice or about your data, write to [email protected].

This site has no contact forms, accounts or newsletter. We do not ask for your name or email address here.

Note 2Data processed on every visit

To deliver this website and keep it secure, our web server and our content-delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, process technical information that your browser sends with each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string.

We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Note 3Analytics, only with your consent

If you choose Accept in the cookie banner, we use two analytics services to understand how this site is used and how to improve it. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, neither service is loaded at all.

Google Analytics 4 (Google)

Records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example, the referring site), and general information about your device, browser and approximate location. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft)

Records how you interact with the page (clicks, scrolling and mouse movements) as session recordings and heatmaps. Text typed into input fields is always masked by Clarity; this site has no input fields.

Our legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; withdrawing does not affect processing that took place before. We do not use this data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not try to identify you from it.

When you withdraw consent, we delete the analytics cookies stored for this site.

Note 5Who receives data

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Note 6International transfers

Cloudflare, Google and Microsoft may process data outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK Extension) or on standard contractual clauses.

Note 8Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected].

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Note 9Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when our practices change; the date at the top shows the current version. If the analytics services we use change, we will also ask for your consent again.
